L80 Tubing Coupling

• The maximum outer diameter (OD) of L80 Tubing coupling is normally 4 1/2 inches.
  
  
• L80 Tubing pipes are used in drilling activities; inside the tubing is a sucker rod used to drill or pump oil.
  
  
• Coupling types for L80 Tubing are more varied and demanding than those for casing.
  
  
• The most common coupling is the thickened upset coupling (internal upset and external upset), abbreviated as EUE coupling.
  
  It is the most favorable type for L80 Tubing connections.
  
  
• L80 Tubing with EU end (EUE) coupling connection is also called UPTBG.
  
  
• The thickened (upset) end of the tubing provides better connection stress resistance than buttress coupling.
  
  
• Buttress coupling is another type used for L80 Tubing connections. It has the same thickness as the pipe body and is called NU end (NUE) L80 Tubing or TBG.

• All three types have the same thickness as the casing pipe body, differing only in length.
  
  
• Oil casing coupling is essential for connecting two casing pipes.
  
  
• The manufacturing method is the same as for seamless pipes.
  
  
• The steel pipe ends have internal threads to connect with the upper and lower casing pipes.
