Shohojogita

The organization SHOHOJOGITA is a Bangladesh word which means “to helping each other”. The principal vision is to help the rural poor widowed, divorced and helpless women by creating employment for them. The concept basically came from the good feelings of love for the indigent people in the society.

SHOHOJOGITA was started to give women an opportunity for a better life. We collaborate with artisans and organizations helping women in difficult circumstances in Bangladesh, specially rural women ONLY. We help by marketing their beautiful products so they can afford to daily food, have medical care and provide an education to their children. These women have never had the chances we have had, yet they are just like us in so many way.

SHOHOJOGITA is a Fair Trade organization and doing social-oriented business. It is born on 26th of January 2004. A total of over 140 producers (95% women) organised and having over 800 products such as jute bags, basketry, floor mats, handloom items, sea grass baskets and bags, hand embroidery and also producers have excellent capacities and skills to prepare products according to buyer/partner requirements.
