GAIA is a young company with great experience. Thanks to our long and successful background from the food packaging industry we are experts to find biodegradable solutions for every need. The vision is to replace current fossil based plastics with a renewable and compostable alternative without sacrificing quality. Our first success story was a pouch for the Scandinavian waste industry. Our second, an apron made in-house for Swedish hospitals.

As our journey began with a resounding success story – a pioneering pouch designed specifically for the Scandinavian waste industry. Building upon this triumph, we developed an innovative in-house solution, producing biodegradable aprons for Swedish hospitals. Today, Gaia Biomaterials proudly offers a diverse range of biomaterials, including film blowing, injection molding, sheet extrusion, and bottle blowing.

Today we offer biomaterials in different qualities such as; film blowing, injection molding, sheet extrusion, and bottle blowing. We co-operate with big global companies to make sure we can serve a global demand on sustainable biodegradable product solutions.

We've created partnerships with global industry leaders, ensuring that we can effectively meet the burgeoning worldwide demand for sustainable, biodegradable product solutions.

In June 2016, Gaia BioMaterials AB embarked on a groundbreaking venture in collaboration with NSR and Båstad Kommun. This endeavor received substantial EU funding through the LIFE program, amounting to 30 MSEK.

The project's core objective is to demonstrate how our renewable and biodegradable biomaterial, Biodolomer®, can replace energy-intensive and fossil-based plastics and packaging materials. We're forging the path towards a greener future, with Biodolomer® poised to revolutionize the European plastic and packaging industry by offering a unique combination of eco-friendly qualities.
