Born in the year 1930, Mr. Balraj Gupta grew up in a tough household trying to make its ends meet where he had to do many jobs to fund his education. His hard work over the years got him to Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. Here he became a proud alumnus of this prestigious institution. After finishing his graduation he also persued & completed his post-graduation degree in Economics to then take the most important step in Polyplastics History.
He honed up his entrepreneurial skills at a very young age and was a voracious reader of books from diverse genres, keeping himself well informed. While India, in the mid-’60s, was hugely dependent on the outside world for its requirement of technological products, Mr. Balraj Gupta grabbed every opportunity he could garner in his favor.
Mr. Balraj Gupta often used to say that learning has no age and not being an engineer turned out to be his biggest advantage. This gave him ample opportunities to learn and ask imprudent questions without any inhibitions. This not only helped him understand every snip about the industry in a better way but also helped him grow as a person. He kept his employers pleased and contented until he was 35 years of age after which he decided to venture out on his own.
He identified insulators for the co-axial cables as a high-tech product, also an import substitute, and thus helped to build the very foundation of growth for Polyplastics thereafter.
Since the product required very high precision & quality, it made Mr. Balraj Gupta learn the nuances of ‘tool-making’ and the ‘injection molding process’. Being an import substitute product, Polyplastics started exporting the same component to many European companies.
Ever since he never looked back and diversified under the same brand name in manufacturing for Defence and Telecommunications industry. From the modest beginning and an unwavering will to meet stringent quality standards, Mr. Balraj Gupta was driven by his vision of complete customer satisfaction. Today, continuing his legacy and adhering to his founding principles, we have built a strong footing to serve the automobile industry and make Polyplastics a brand for others to benchmark.
