During operation, the effluent slurry flows radially along the peripheral overflow weir. This process facilitates the deposition and discharge of coarse particle materials with a sedimentation velocity greater than the rising velocity of the liquid flow. These materials are efficiently separated and discharged through the bottom of the cone. On the other hand, fine particles in the slurry enter the overflow tank and are discharged separately.
