According to Chinese customs regulations, imported chicken feet (phoenix claws) must meet a series of food safety and quality standards. Here are some key import standards and requirements:
Quality Classification: Frozen chicken feet are typically divided into three grades: A, B, and C. Grade A is the highest quality, requiring that the chicken feet be hairless, very clean, fresh, with nails and no injuries, no black pads, no ammonia, and no peculiar smell. Grades B and C are of slightly lower quality, which may have certain damages or frostbite areas.
Packaging Requirements: The packaging of imported frozen chicken feet should use non-toxic and harmless materials, and be intact without damage. Both inner and outer packaging should indicate the country of origin, product name, manufacturer's registration number, and production batch number. The outer packaging should also be marked in Chinese with specifications, origin, destination, production date, shelf life, storage temperature, etc.
Document Requirements: Imported chicken feet require documents such as a certificate of origin from abroad, a sanitary certificate, the manufacturer's qualification for export to China, and the manufacturer's registration number in China.
Inspection and Quarantine: Imported chicken feet must undergo inspection and quarantine by customs and inspection and quarantine departments upon arrival at Chinese ports to ensure compliance with China's food safety standards and import requirements.
HS Code: The correct HS code must be used for import declaration, such as 0207142200 for frozen chicken feet, which includes a 3-digit CIQ code.
National Food Safety Standards: Imported chicken feet must also comply with China's national food safety standards, including but not limited to GB 2707-2005 for fresh (frozen) livestock meat hygiene standards, GB 2726-2005 for cooked meat product hygiene standards, etc.
