The 4 shaft single layer forming fabrics are multipurpose and provide good stretch, drainage, sheet, support and abrasion resistance properties. They are mainly used to produce printing & writing papers, packaging papers.

The 5 shaft single layer forming fabrics provide better stretch and drainage properties than 4-shaft forming fabrics. The retention can be improved by increasing weft yarns. This kind of forming fabrics are primarily used on tissue machines.

The 8 shaft pattern forming fabrics are the most wear-resistant ones in single layer forming fabrics and generally used for the production of kraft papers, fluting & test liner, card boards.
