TC4 (Ti-6Al-4V) titanium alloy, which belongs to (A + b) type two-phase titanium alloy, contains 6% α stable element and 4% β stable element V. The nominal aluminum equivalent of TC4 titanium alloy is 7.0, the molybdenum equivalent is 2.9, and the annealed state contains 10% -15% β phase.

Al in Ti-Al-V improves the room temperature strength and thermal strength performance of the alloy by solid-strengthening α -phase, and V is one of the few alloy elements in titanium alloy that can improve both strength and plasticity.

The favorable effect of V on the plasticity of titanium alloy is because it does not increase the ratio of lattice c / a axis in the α state like most alloy elements, but reduces the ratio, thus improving the formation of α phase and avoiding alloy embrittlement in the long-term use process.

The main characteristics of TC4 titanium alloy are its excellent comprehensive performance and good process properties. TC4 titanium alloy has medium room temperature strength and high temperature strength, good creep resistance and thermal stability, high fatigue resistance and crack extension resistance in seawater, as well as satisfactory fracture toughness and thermal salt stress corrosion resistance.

The sensitivity of TC4 to hydrogen is also smaller than that of TC2 and TC1 alloys, which is suitable for manufacturing various parts working in a wide temperature range of-196~450℃, especially those designed with the principle of damage capacity limit.
