The crab is large, with succulent and tasty flesh, that can be enjoyed in both hot and cold dishes. Their shells are bright red when cooked and their meat is sweet, firm, and spectacularly delicious.

King crab is low in saturated fat and a good source of vitamin B12, phosphorus, zinc, copper, and selenium. It has fleshy claws and legs with sweet, rich meat, and crab caught later in the year tends to have a higher meat fill. King crab is sold in sections, claws, legs, and split legs bandsawed down the middle.

It's also very easy to extract all the meat from the crab compared to other crustaceans.
