Established in 1955, BCA was initially founded as Bank Central Asia Credit Union, before being granted a commercial banking license in 1957. Since then, BCA has grown to become one of the largest banks in Indonesia with a wide range of financial products and services.

Bank Mandiri is the result of a merger between four state-owned banks in Indonesia. The merger was part of the government's efforts to strengthen the banking sector and create a national champion bank.

BRI is one of the oldest banks in Indonesia. Initially, BRI was set up as a bank to provide financial services to rural communities in Indonesia, particularly small businesses and low-income households. Today, BRI is one of the largest banks in Indonesia.

Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero), Tbk (hereinafter referred to as “BNI” or “Bank”) was originally established in Indonesia as a central bank under the name “Bank Negara Indonesia” based on Government Regulation in Lieu of Law No. 2 of 1946 dated July 5, 1946. Furthermore, based on Law no. 17 of 1968, BNI was designated "Bank Negara Indonesia 1946", and its status was a State-Owned Commercial Bank.

BNI was the first BUMN Bank (State Owned Enterprise) to become a public company after listing its shares on the Jakarta Stock Exchange and Surabaya Stock Exchange in 1996. To strengthen its financial structure and competitiveness in the national banking industry, BNI carried out a number of corporate actions, including others that were recapitalized by the Government in 1999, divestment of Government shares in 2007, and limited public offering in 2010.

Bank Danamon was originally set up as a branch of a foreign bank in Indonesia. The bank later became a fully Indonesian-owned bank and has since grown to become one of the leading banks in Indonesia.

Bank CIMB Niaga was originally founded as Bank Niaga. The bank later went through several mergers and acquisitions, including with the Malaysian bank CIMB, and was rebranded as Bank CIMB Niaga in 2008.

Bank Permata was initially set up as a joint venture between an Indonesian bank and a foreign bank. The bank has since grown to become one of the leading banks in Indonesia.

Bank Mega was originally set up as Bank Karman. The bank later went through several mergers and acquisitions and was rebranded as Bank Mega in 1992.

Bank OCBC NISP was originally set up as Nederlandsch Indische Spaar en Deposito Bank (NISB). The bank later went through several changes in ownership and was eventually acquired by the Singaporean bank OCBC in 2004.
